A German Christmas Market

A Traditional Christmas Market in Downtown Nashville
November 28 - December 24, 2008

Beginning this year, Sister Cities of Nashville and partners in our sister city of Magdeburg, Germany will bring a month-long traditional Christmas market to downtown Nashville during the holiday season.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, Nashville’s Hall of Fame Park will be transformed into a holiday village, where visitors can enjoy German food and drink specialties, experience holiday music and entertainment, and purchase authentic German ornaments, nutcrackers, puppets, and other crafts.

Originating centuries ago in Germany, Christmas markets are now enjoyed throughout the world as festive, family-friendly celebrations for local communities. Sister Cities is honored to be able to bring this tradition to Tennessee and welcomes the involvement individuals and groups within and outside Nashville as vendors, sponsors, musicians, and volunteers.

Whether you live in Nashville or plan to visit the city during the holidays, we hope that you will make the German Christmas market your destination for a unique, enjoyable, and memorable holiday experience.
